Meet Pastor Matz!

Pastor Brett Matz, was born and raised in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A second career pastor, he worked for twenty-years at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as a computer operator and then computer programmer. During this time, he met his wife Kathy, and the LORD has blessed them with two boys, Joseph (Joe) and Timothy (Tim). As a family they enjoy cheering for the Packers, Bucks, Brewers, and Badgers. In his free time, he enjoys such things as bowling, golf, and in the fall, deer hunting.

Feeling a desire to serve the church, he attended Concordia University Wisconsin at night while at EDS and finished his bachelor’s degree in the Liberal Arts in 2004. In 2007 he and his family moved to Saint Louis, where he attended Concordia Seminary and in 2010 graduated.

His first call was to Saint Luke Lutheran Church and School in Itasca, Illinois where he served as Associate Pastor. In the fall of 2013, he accepted the call to Saint Mark Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin as sole pastor. In 2021 he accepted the call as sole pastor to Calvary Lutheran Church in Princeton, Wisconsin. Over the years he has felt blessed in being able to share God’s love and His Word not only in the church but with those in the various communities.
